OUT OF THE BOX

10-Minute Play Reading Festival

Covid-19 Edition

Extra-ordinary lives lived in extraordinary ways

10 minutes at a time

YOU ARE INVITED to attend OUT OF THE BOX 10-Minute Play Reading Festival from the comfort of your home!

We’re all in quarantine, thanks to the Covid-19 virus. Live theatre has gone dark until further notice. That doesn’t mean theatre is not being produced…online. Askew’s previously cancelled 10-minute festival is going live online. Thanks to the power of the Zoom online meeting platform, we will be performing the festival LIVE through your computer/mobile device. We will also be hosting a talk-back after each production with the playwright.

Starting Wednesday, May 6 and running every two weeks on Mondays through July 13 at 7 PM (Pacific Standard Time), we will be performing all twelve of our original 10-minute plays.

Lineup includes: One Night Fran by Adam Szudrich, Keeping Secrets by Rich Rubin, Recess by Kara Krantz, Jack Pork by Donna Hoke, Assumptions by Lynne Bolen, Falling by Diane Walker, Saddle Up by Marcus Gorman, One More Run by Kathie O’Brien, Unsex: A short Play Concerning John Rice by Michael Raver, Ad Men by Jack Karp, Defenders of the Tender Gender Bender by Rich Orloff, and Doofus by Manuel Igrejas.

Please check this page regularly for festival schedule updates, production information, bios and play synopses and follow us on Facebook for to be the first to receive updates!
